Who would have thought...

Who would have thought, these two girls have had a "Sick" and MISERABLE weekend (including mommy and daddy)!

Okay...maybe looking a little rough but...
She got new crayons for the bath tub...she looks she is going attack with those things!
Snot Lady :)

If anyone wants to hear what happened in the Kvilhaug household...go ahead and listen...if not go on with your day!!!!

Thursday, the girls started showing signs of maybe a cold coming on (runny nose and a cough here and there).
Friday comes and Avery wakes up with a cough...TJ mentions should we neb her? I never heard her cough all morning and thought...she should be fine since I didn't here her. Well turns out at daycare she was coughing all morning and at one point coughing so hard she threw up her bottle. Patty said she was in good spirits but just coughing through out the day. Madison had a runny nose. We go home and get ready for the fish fry and I notice Avery's cough. I decided to wait on the neb so that we can do it before bedtime. At dinner she started to get those sick "eyes". She wanted to close her eyes, wouldn't eat, crabby and coughing. I could tell her coughing was making it hard to catch her breath. We left early and while driving, I started to panic because her coughing became close togehter and could tell she was struggling to breath. I told TJ he may need to speed it up so I can get a neb in. We get home and I neb her. I can tell it made a small difference but the coughing wouldn't stop. I took her temp....101.6 and we decide to go to urgent care immediately.
I am not one of those moms that jump the gun but she was starting to make me nervous and was very concerned she had pneumonia and affraid if we waited she would need to go to the ER.
We arrive at the doctors and had a temp and took and xray and as soon as the doctor heard her cough...he said It's Croup. I have heard bad stuff about it and wasn't too happy! I didn't know you can't really do anything for it. She got a shot in both legs of a steroid to open up her esophagus. It helped right away and she actually slept "ok". I was told if the coughing spells come on...go stand outside in the colder air, open the refrigerator...weird I know!
Saturday comes and she had an okay day. Towards the evening it got bad. She was coughing and looking miserable. All through out this poor Madison was starting to show signs of being miserable. Fever, runny nose and cough! Avery slept like crap (so did we). She woke up just not herself. She was the worst I have seen her. She was lethargic, not eating well, tired, crabby...not Avery Elizabeth. After Avery woke up she had a 103.4 temp and miserable.
It was then I decided its time to go back. Turns out she was close to being admitted to the ER but luckly she was crying the whole time. Doctor said she looks awful and hasn't seen a baby that miserable in a long time but its a good thing she was crying.
**When they are crying, it take a lot of energy to cry and it was good she was doing that because that shows she is not "as" bad.
I am telling you its NOT fun to talk to a doctor and listen to the doctor while she was crying the WHOLE time!
Turns out she had an ear infection. She was also convinced that she probably had pneumonia as well but since she was going to get on anti-biotics for her ear infection it is the same stuff they administer for pneumonia.
Sooooooo, needless to say she was not feeling well and I don't blame her for crying the whole time.

This afternoon and evening she did okay. Not 100% okay but I would say, she smiled and laughed a few times and that is a good thing. She took a bath and had a good time. Madison and Avery got new bath crayons and loved it! Needless to say the girls are not going to daycare tomorrow and possible Tuesday.
Wednesday, we have the pulmonologist appointment for Avery. To discuss and do some tests because of all the respiratory problems she has had. I am hoping for a better week and Easter weekend!

Grandpa Gene...Madison said to be strong! Lots of love and support and strength coming your way! Love ya!
