Now for the opposite :-) If anyone knows the Kvilhaug family, they know that hockey is a huge part of that house hold! TJ spent his whole childhood and high school/college years playing hockey. The whole family is huge Gopher Hockey fans as well. Nephew Aidan (5 years old in Feb), has started playing and loving every second of it! Basically hockey runs through their blood.
When I met TJ, hockey came to be something I quickly figured out and enjoyed. Going to numerous hockey games (as TJ was the coach) and then watching our nephew start up hockey! I still may be clueless about the tedious rules...it is still a fun and exciting sport! TJ has always wanted a boy to play hockey and follow in his footsteps and play hockey. As you can see....we DO NOT have any boys...haha! TJ has now moved to our girls and seeing if they like the idea of skating and possibly hockey. I am not a huge fan of it but if they love a sport then I feel they should be able to play it! We are seeing if the girls enjoy it and go from there. You never know!
This Saturday all the kids got up from the naps and we decided to bundle them up and take them to the local ice rinks! Travis had an extra set of skate for Aidan and we had Madison try them. She went skating and LOVED every second of it. She especially loved going really fast while holding on to TJ. Lets just say it was probably the most excited and proud I have seen TJ in a long time! I even strapped on a pair of skates for the first time in at least 15 years! I did NOT fall...took it easy but I was proud that I did not fall!
It was a fun time and looking forward to see what happens from this one time skating! Wondering if Madison or Avery will pick up the skating/hockey bug that runs through the Kvilhaugs'!
Here are a couple pictures of proud daddy and Madison! She may not be smiling but she was full of them while skating!
Look how proud he is!
His back may have killed the rest of the night and next day but would do it all over again to help his little girl learn to skate like daddy!
Pretty sure Avery will be on skates sooner than we think...she was SUCH a fun of the snow and wanting to skate like her daddy and sister!
Travis and his kiddos! Felicity, Aidan and Scarlett!
Picture of us all out on the ice! I have a feeling this will be the first of many of family outings to the ice rink...if not skating then watching our awesome nephew skate!
