Well we added another Kvilhaug to the bunch and we couldn't be happier!
Jaxon Gregory Kvilhaug was born September 2nd at 10:44am.
First, I will start by saying this pregnancy was SOOOOOO much different with Jaxon than with the girls. I had morning sickness and was a bit more difficult in general. Around 6 months I was measuring bigger so they had me have an ultrasound to see what was going on. Jaxon was measuring bigger and turned out I had a lot of extra amniotic fluid. Everything was prefect with Jaxon and there was no concern except to just watch me. I ended up having two more ultrasounds to make sure everything looked okay...which was perfect. I was just having a big boy and had lots of fluid...hense my big belly!!!! Towards the end I was DONE. I was walking up to 3 miles EVERY day and that didn't seem to get things going with him. He obviously was very comfy. I had my last appointment and ultrasound in August and then scheduled an induction for September 2nd. Turned out that Jaxon was measuring 9.6lbs at 38 weeks. They couldn't induce me before 39 weeks. I had to then wait over the Labor Day holiday weekend because they didn't induce on the weekends or a holiday. I was just hoping I would go on my own but I was happy to know there was an end in sight.
Just a heads up...TMI...
Well come September 1st (of course the day before my induction), I felt OFF. I knew it was weird and in the evening I started to contract and was getting uncomfortable. They continued and by the time 8pm came along I had a feeling it was going to happen soon. I called the doc and she said that I should come in because it was my third and I had to have antibiotics before I delivered. They just wanted to take all precautions and have me checked. So we got the kids stuff all packed in the car and drove them to TJ's parents house. Had all of our stuff ready to go. After getting checked in at the assessment center they had me walk for hour to see my progress. Well let me tell you it was NO fun. Having to walk around with contractions were not fun! Thankfully TJ went with (he wasn't too thrilled too, hahaha)!!! After one hour and nurses talking they decided to keep me! I would have been sent home as they believed I was early labor. Since I had to come back in 5 hours they thought it was mean to send me home! They also wanted me to start on my antibiotics. So after my hour of walking we got admitted into labor and delivery! My contractions were still coming but slowly started to die down. I got all hooked up and started my antibiotic and just rested as TJ slept! I couldn't sleep...
At about 4am they started to get things going and starter the pitocin slowly! Contractions were there and not too bad! At 8:00am doc came and broke my water and I was still at a darn 2cm! Let me tell you once that water broke it was as if the flood gates opened! I soaked through at least 10 towels and numerous pads. My ultrasound tech was right about the excess fluid...haha! After my flood gates were released my labor went FAST! I am telling you as soon as the doc left my contractions were intense and very painful! I asked for the epidural immediately because it would take possibly a half hour to a hour to get one! Thank heavens I got it right away! After my epi was done the nurse checked me and I already progressed to a 4. She said it is going to go fast. My contractions were strong and hard and my right side wasn't of the epi was not working so my contractions were painful and I had to go to the bathroom! I couldn't get up because my left side was numb and was waiting for my right side to get numb so they could put a cathitor in. It felt like centuries and finally since the anesthesiologist was still it the area she came back and tried to get me able to feel less of my right side of contractions! Finally it started to work...better but not all the way. Basically enough for me to get a cathitor so I could go to the bathroom. That was NOT fun but felt a bit better but contractions were strong and fast! The nurse checked me again and I was at a 8! She decided to call the doc to come back. Then basically was in the bed in partial pain and then started to feel lots of pressure and TJ went to get the nurse and she checked me again and I was at a 10! It was go time and he was right there! Doc got ready and everything was prepped and I had one push and out he can't but I had to stop cause the cord was wrapped around his neck. I could have had him out in one push but had to stop. Then on my next contractions pushed one more time and out Mr Jaxon Gregory Kvilhaug came! His face was a bit bruised cause he came so fast!
He was so long and perfect and didn't think he weighed almost 10 pounds...but I was wrong. 9.14lbs and 21inch long!
Jax and I got to go home on Thursday Sept 4th! We even went to Target on the way home! I was proud his first outing was Target ;-) haha! Plus I needed a Starbucks :
