If anyone wants to know we took Madison's pacer away on June 5th (bed time).
Madison was only using her pacer at naps, bed time and sometimes in the car.
Well since Avery has been born she has been pushing the limits and testing and using it more and sneaking it, TJ and I just didn't care and let it happen.
Well now it was becoming a problem. She was stealing Avery's, wanting it ALL day long at home.
At daycare she is not allowed to have one...so she is just playing us! So I said ENOUGH! So, I thought it shouldn't be too hard because she isn't allowed to have it at daycare EVER....WELL...
Lets just say its been a VERY VERY tough week and a half. I am convinced that potty training was EASY compared to this (at least for Madison). Every night is a STRUGGLE! The first week she would scream and cry for over an hour or hour and a half. Naps are not an issue right now its the bed time. I know from before, if I gave her her pacer she would lay down and be quiet and fall asleep. I even tried cutting the tip of the pacer to see if she needed that first. NOPE...she said no that she needed a new one and that it was broken and that made her more upset when we said no. So basically I cut a pacer for NO reason :)
Now its crying, screaming, wanting me to lay on the floor, lay my head on her tummy while she rubs my hair, talking to me and smiling her cute smile at me. I hate it...I feel terrible that she is acting like she is terrified to go to sleep. Poor Avery will just lay there and go to sleep. All I know is that it test mine and TJ's nerves like no other.
I am VERY VERY VERY VERY tempted to let her use her pacer till she is done with them :) Just so we can go back to the EASY bed time routine with no problems!
She has done VERY good with naps and doesn't try to take a pacer away from Avery anymore so that is a huge plus. Its the night time that is causing the problems. I just want my good sleeper to come back! I know she will eventually get the hang of it and realize that she isn't going to get away with staying up till 9pm every night. Mommy and Daddy need our time to sit and not watch Beauty and the Beast/Barney/Sing-a-longs/Nick Junior/PBS!
If anyone has different tips, let me know, but for now we will just keep having fights at night time :)
But in the mean time she is cute as a button with a nasty attitude that we are working on too!
