TJ, myself, Maddi and Avery joined Travis, Dyan, Aidan, Scarlett and Felicity at their hotel room downtown. We all were going to go to the Holidazzle Parade downtown at 6:30 on Saturday!
We got to their hotel room and we decided to try to go to Macy's 8th Floor display. We got all the kids ready to go and off we went. Well that came to a screeching halt because it would have taken us over an hour to get to the display. We turned our large strollers and went back down and went back to the hotel room and ordered some pizza!
While we waited for the pizza, the men went to get a few cocktails! The kids enjoyed running around and playing with each other and getting in to things! Of course their hotel room had a very nice bathroom that had a bidet! Once us parents were busy the kids got in the bathroom. Aidan and Madison enjoyed the splashing of the water in the bidet...GROSS!!!!
The pizza finally arrived...the kids were HUNGRY!! We got the kids pizza ready...shirts off!!! The kids LOVED the pizza...they all wanted each others! The adults had a couple adult cocktails while the children enjoyed their juice and milk!
After eating, cleaning all the grease and pizza sauce up we winterized the kids and got them in the strollers (the girls couldn't move)! Here is Madison, minus her blanket...she was ready to rock and roll!
Off we went in to the blistering cold! I quickly ran across the street and got us a good spot...right at the corner! The only problem with our spot was that it was REALLY windy! I am telling ya all, it was COLD!!! All us adults were cold...so we knew the kids were!
One float went down Nicollett Ave, so we though SWEET its starting! Well, we were wrong! There was a LONG wait before the next one came. We decided to move towards a different part because it was really cold and the kids started to get antsy and whinny. As soon as we left our spot and went to the other side closer to the hotel...the floats came. I took Aidan and TJ took Madison and we lifted them up as high as we could so they could see the floats pass by! They LOVED what they saw but their little cheeks were so red and it was time! They saw some cool floats but maybe next year it won't be as cold and windy so we all can enjoy it! It was a good attempt made by all! Ya just never know Minnesota and how the winter will be!
We got back to the hotel room and the kids ran around a bit and we decided it was time to head back home! We gathered our belongings and said our goodbyes and thanked Dyan and Travis for inviting us. We can't wait for next years attempt!
